ABOUT US

Rachel is a Minnesota native, transplanted to the lush forest of the Pacific Northwest. Her day job is as an MD/PhD student at Oregon Health and Science University. She studies neonatal metabolism in the lab of Kent Thornburg and is passionate about applying knowledge of metabolic processes to optimize nutrition for sick babies. Notable race performances include 59th at the US Marathon Olympic Trials (2020), 7th at CCC: Courmayeur - Champex - Chamonix (2019), 2:40:17 at Grandma's Marathon, USA Trail Marathon Champion (2018), Cortina Skyrace Champion (2018), Waldo 100k Champion (2018) and Mont Blanc 10k Champion (2017). 


Tyler grew up on a volcano in Portland, Oregon called Mt. Tabor. His primary hustle is teaching middle school health at a small private school while also coaching high school track and cross country, working with boarding students, and painting houses in the summer. Seeking adventure and service opportunities, he's lived in Libya and Nepal. Notable running performances include the Lost Coast Trail (2021), Wonderland Trail and Loowit Trail (2020) FKTs, Black Canyon 100k Champion, 2nd at Javelina Jundred (2019), Cascade Crest 100 Champion (2019), Bandera 100k Champion (2019), Timberline Trail FKT (2018), Snoqualmie Pass to Stevens Pass FKT (2018), 3rd at Sean O'Brien 100k (2018), and 3rd at Gorge Waterfalls (2017).


Tyler and Rachel are married. 


This is their side hustle.
